The year 2012 has seen the launch of the largest cruising catamaran in the world built entirely in carbon.
At the heart of this 33-metre catamaran designed by the architect of VPLP, is a quest for high performance : weight saving by using carbon and light materials and setting the mast further aft like those of VPLP’s racing multihulls.
This very sophisticated building technique is the result of JFA engineers’ work in collaboration with the naval architects and interior designers, Cittolin-Polli and the owners’ representatives.
JFA have established their standing in the large luxury catamarans market by starting work on the Long Island 85, the first of a range of luxury cruising catamarans from 85 to 115 feet. This semi-custom built series, designed by the architect Marc Lombard, will offer top-of-the-range, comfortable high performance yachts.
Axantha II and Zeepard (Axantha I) will take part in the Monaco Yacht Show and you are invited to step on board.
Axantha II, the largest Explorer Vessel built by JFA, was amongst the finalists of the World Superyacht Awards 2012 and the Showboat Design Awards 2012, which took place respectively in Istanbul and Monaco.
