Newsletter n°16 – 2017

Yachts under construction, projects…2017 was a busy year for JFA Yachts, and the last twelve months have passed very fast.
The construction of FC² 70’ is progressing well, and we can already tell that she will be a fast and comfortable yacht. The second Long Island 85’ is also well on its way to being completed. The launch is set for this autumn, followed by sea trials. Her planned itinerary inspires dreams of the frozen polar regions and sun drenched shores …
It became evident to us, over time, that there was a drive to develop a range of Long Island catamarans. For in fact, out of less than twenty sailing catamarans over 84’ sailing the globe, five have come from JFA Yachts: four new builds and one refit.
In this newsletter you will discover two new catamarans, the Long Island 75’ – a sailing cat, and Long Island 76’ power cat. Both have emerged from our experience in building catamarans on this scale, in the spirit of Long Island 85’. They are designed for blue water voyages, encompassing both performance and comfort; designed by naval architect Marc Lombard.
In terms of facilities, a new construction hall has been added to our site at Concarneau. The new hall no 5 can accommodate vessels up to 20 meters long and with 10 meter beam. A 20 meter catamaran is right now being refitted in that space.
As ever, behind all this construction, there are individual women and men. For more than 24 years, the know-how of our team has led JFA Yachts to be considered a shipyard reputed for producing custom yachts of “bespoke quality”. This savoir faire has been recognised at the highest level and we are proud to announce that JFA Yachts has been anointed with a highly prized French accreditation, so we now carry the label ‘Company of Living Heritage’.
