Long Island 87′
JFA Yachts continues the development of the Long Island range, creating a Long Island 87′ based on the 2 previous Long Island 85′ that have sailed extensively, from Antarctica to Greenland, from the Pacific to the Baltic Sea…
This new 87′ model will feature a new superstructure with more modern lines, an extended flybridge, and will be equipped with the latest technologies to ensure passengers comfort for worldwide voyages.
Remember that JFA Yachts stands out in the market of sailing and motor catamarans with the Long Island range, known for their aluminium hulls and composite decks.
Like other models, the Long Island 87′ boasts generous dimensions and proportions, offering what discerning owners are looking for: volume and brightness, comfort in navigation, reliability, and performance for long-distance sailing, along with exceptional construction quality specific to JFA Yachts’ craftsmanship.
Designed by Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group for the naval architecture, the 87′ version is similar to the 86′ motor version and is characterized by an expansive flybridge. With a navigation station, a sheltered bar, a large salon with numerous seats, the upper deck allows you to create different, personal spaces that benefit from unparalleled views. The flybridge roof will be equipped with solar panels to supply electricity during anchorages, reducing the use of generators.
The Long Island 87′ offers a spacious indoor/outdoor living space on the main deck, thanks to an exceptionally wide deck exceeding 11 meters. The sheltered and shaded outdoor space, the bar, the salon, and comfortable sunbathing areas allow guests to share unforgettable moments in the open air.
The aft deck, where the indispensable tender is housed during navigation, easily allows the creation of a relaxation area or a genuine launching beach for multiple water-sports.
The cockpit extends indoors with a salon to port and a dining area to starboard. This interior salon is exceptionally luminous due to the aft glass door and large portholes on the sides.
On the port side of the salon, a few steps lead to the owner’s cabin. Occupying the entire width of the roof, this cabin offers incredible size and an unrivalled 180° view for a vessel of this size, (whether sail or motor). A few steps permit access to a door leading directly onto the foredeck.
The port hull comprises the owner’s bathroom, a children’s cabin with 4 beds, and a guest cabin aft. The starboard hull comprises another guest cabin and the crew area with a skipper’s cabin, crew cabin, galley, and crew mess. The vessel totals no less than 124m² and can accommodate 10 guests and 4 crew members in the utmost comfort.
In keeping with their collaboration with JFA Yachts, Darnet Design will once again design the interior with a personalized ambience for the future owner.
It is with emotion that we recall here the words of Marc Lombard, who thus defined this range of luxury offshore catamarans: ‘The Long Island catamarans are simple, efficient, seaworthy… and refined.’ In line with the 2 Long Island 85′ and the Long Island 78′ Power, we can bet that the Long Island 87′ will once again confirm these words!
‘We are very excited to launch this Long Island 87’ project. We found this yacht to be the perfect balance between performance under sail and functional living spaces. The Long Island 87’ is the optimal proven blue water sailing catamaran available in the market today and well suited for our specific mission, to circumnavigate the globe with our family of four in unparalleled comfort, safety, and luxury.’ comments the future owner.
