Magistral – now Six plus Two – 118′ Sailing Yacht
Magistral, a 118′ schooner
Originally christened Orejona by the Dutch yard Cammenga where she was built in 1972 to the plans of De Vries Lentsch, this 128’ schooner came to JFA Yachts in November 1999. Entirely sandblasted both inside and out, the refit commenced from scratch. Her waterline was extended by 2 meters in order to incorporate a garage to store water toys and a hydraulic passerelle. Berret-Racoupeau naval architects modified the superstructures creating a real deck salon and wheelhouse. This extension also allowed the whole interior space to be redesigned making it better adapted to crew traffic. JFA Yachts approached the British architects Andrew Winch Design to do the interior. Whilst conserving the ambiance of the era, by using blonde Burmese teak, Andrew Winch was able to evoke a very modern style. On charter, in the Med and Caribbean, Magistral can accommodate up to 8 guests.
After 2 years of complete reconstruction, Magistral was a resounding success and marked an important stage in the evolution of JFA Yachts, who were thereafter positioned firmly in the refit sector.
