LAUNCHING OF THE FC² 70′
JFA Yachts has just launched the FC² 70′, a 70′ monohull cruiser which is decidedly performance-oriented with a wide hull, a sleek sail plan and a stringent weight design.
The hull is made of aluminium while the deck and the cockpit are constructed in epoxy glass infusion. This technique made it possible to limit the weight compared to an all-aluminium hull. The assembly is done by gluing / bolting.
In order to allow access to many ports or anchorages, this boat has a pivoting keel reducing the draft from 4.4m to 2.05m.
The interiors combine Zebrano furniture with white lacquered panels. From the cockpit, we enter a large salon with the galley to starboard. The accommodation continues forward with an owner’s suite occupying the full beam of the boat and a crew cabin forward. The boat has 2 guest cabins aft.
A 3.4m tender is kept in a garage concealed by a pivoting rear door.
Powered by a 180 hp engine, the 70 ‘FC² is equipped 2 thrusters, one at the front and one at the rear facilitating easy manoeuvring with twin rudder.
The deck is equipped with discreet and efficient deck hardware and hydraulic winches. The furlers are hydraulic below deck versions.
The boat, brought to the JFA pontoon, will, in the coming days, receive its all carbon rigging (mast, boom and standing rigging) as well as a set of technical sails. Sea trials will take place in the beginning of July.
