Power catamaran signed by JFA Yachts!
Following the success of the Long Island 85, JFA Yachts and Marc Lombard have developed for a client a 78′ Power catamaran. The order has just been confirmed and this new project enters the Long Island range with the name Long Island 78 Power.
Designed for large trips, the hulls will be made of aluminium while the deck and superstructures will be composite. Powered by 2 engines of 500 hp, the cruising speed is set at 12 knots with a maximum speed of 15 knots (half loaded). Like the previous Long Island, JFA Yachts and Marc Lombard have focused on the weight of the boat and its equipment. This displacement and the desired speed make it possible to install engines of reasonable size in order to lower the fuel consumption and the size of the tanks while offering a transatlantic autonomy.
The interior design and exterior styling of the boat will be by Franck Darnet Design and will call to mind the mixed oak and darker wood panelling of the Long Island 85 n°2. The nacelle will house the galley, main salon, dining area and a chart table. The port hull will have a large owner’s suite and a guest cabin. The starboard hull will have 3 guest cabins. An inner wheelhouse will be installed on the flybridge; an innovative feature in this type and size of boat. This space, designated for navigation, will also host a banquette and an office so you can relax and enjoy the view.
The outdoor spaces are also innovative with, in front of the nacelle, a lounge area and a sea water bath on the deck. Of course, in the back the interior salon extends to a large exterior cockpit. On the flybridge, a salon and dining area with a small kitchenette will be installed behind the wheelhouse.
This order allows JFA Yachts to position itself in the growing market of power catamarans.
